Professional interior design is not only about aesthetics, but it has to do with optimizing the functionality of a space by making it the right fit for the purpose and use.
The global market for the interior design industry has seen exponential growth towards digitalization in the past years. Just in the US, the market size, measured by revenue, of the Interior Designers industry is $17.0bn in 2021. This shows that the industry is huge and has immense growth potential.
This significant trend has influenced designers to use technology to create and share their designs and generate leads and sales for themselves and their vendors.
Being a designer firm, our client Uptown Design LLC knew that creating design boards by hand for clients is time-consuming and demanding. The app creates an easier way to connect the many local brick-and-mortar vendors and trade services to aspiring and professional designers and tradespeople who need their goods and services.
Uptown Design approached Genetech to turn its idea into reality.

We received the initial requirement details from the client, and our team worked closely with Uptown Design to produce a well-designed and reliable product.

Agile methodology was considered the best choice for handling the ever-evolving client requirements.

The team at Genentech is providing support and maintenance to the products, this includes improving exciting features and building new ones.
The outcome is a user-friendly, interactive iOS application for interior designers to sell their products and services.
It is a free mobile application for interior designers, architects, builders, and more to connect with the booming marketplace of local vendors and trades.
Designers have no subscription fee as they only need to sign-up and can start using the app after their profile gets approved by the admin.
There are subscription plans for vendors registration after their initial three months of using the application free of cost.
A virtual design board allows the user to post images and text that can be used to track products used on a particular design and other details for personal reference. The designers can share these boards with others.
The event calendar offers networking events to designers, and they can directly RSVP within the app to the ones they are interested in attending.
To assist designers further, a virtual showroom feature was added. A designer can get a preview of the vendor's showroom before they visit, or they can source directly from the virtual showroom.
TRADE FINDRY is the industry-specific, location-centric mobile app that connects the interior design community with the vendors and services that help them get the job done.

So far, 648 vendors are on board, and 12 designers are using the application.
