Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

It is imperative for businesses to quickly return to the same operating capacity after an unforeseen incident, like a disaster or a cyberattack. Business continuity is an organization's plan to function without having all of its resources (limp-along plan).

Business Continuation in case of disasters or downtime can be a game-changer for your business, where high availability means more revenue. Our team can set up backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure that downtimes and data losses become a thing of the past. From mirroring data in real-time to reducing the recovery time, let us showcase our expertise in providing Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS).

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between business continuity planning and disaster recovery?

Business continuity planning (BCP) is a strategy for keeping essential operations running during and after an incident (e.g. cyber attack, natural disaster, system outage). Disaster recovery (DR) is more specific: recovering data, restoring systems, and resuming services to full capacity after disruption. Essentially, BCP deals with keeping you operational; DR deals with getting you back to “normal” quickly.

How do you determine the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) that’s right for my business?

We’ll work with you to understand your operational priorities: which systems are mission-critical, what data loss is acceptable, and how much downtime you can tolerate without serious impact. From there, we help define RTO (how quickly you need systems back) and RPO (how much data loss you can afford). These metrics shape your backup frequency, redundancy, failover strategies, and how much investment is needed to meet those goals.

What services/packages are included in your Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery offering?

Our service includes:

  • Backup strategy & retention policies tailored to your risk tolerance and compliance needs.

  • On-site and/or cloud backup options, depending on your infrastructure.

  • Offsite or physical storage of backup media in safe locations.

  • Disaster recovery plan design, implementation, and ready-to-execute procedures.

  • Load balancing, clustering, and failover strategies to keep critical services available.

  • Regular testing of backup & recovery plans, including production switch-over tests.

How often should we test our disaster recovery plan, and what does that testing look like?

Testing should happen at least annually, but for critical systems, semi-annually or more often is better. Testing should involve:

  • Simulated failure (or real-scenario drills) where you switch to backup systems or alternate site.

  • Verifying data integrity and restoration (does the data match recent backups / RPO?).

  • Checking system dependencies (e.g. applications, network, user access) to ensure everything works when failover happens.

  • Review of documentation, roles & responsibilities, communication protocols.

  • Post-test evaluation: what worked, what didn’t, what needs updating.

What is the expected timeline and cost for implementing a business continuity & disaster recovery plan?

  • Timeline: For a small to medium business, getting a basic BCP + DR plan in place (audit + backup setup + initial testing) often takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the complexity and number of systems. For larger, more complex organizations (multiple data centers, custom, legacy systems, regulatory constraints), it could take several months.

  • Cost: It depends on factors like data volume, criticality of systems, duplication / redundancy required, infrastructure (cloud vs physical), frequency of backups, and how aggressive your RTO/RPO goals are. Because downtime or data loss can be extremely costly, the investment often pays off in risk mitigation, reduced loss during disruptions, and continuity of operations.
